Thursday morning we packed the car with all of our bags for our last drive down the hill.
We left Italy with mixed emotions I was disappointed that we didn't see more of the country
but also happy to have many reasons to return.
Wednesday night we had intended to book hotels for our two day drive across France to
Biarritz, sadly the internet was out so we left the house for a spontaneous drive across
France. This was a big mistake and possibly the low point of the trip.
On the way to France we stopped in the Cinque Terre town of Manarola. from there we
drove onto AIx-en Provence where we intended to spend the night and found all the hotels
booked so we pressed onto Arles. Friday we drove to Toulouse for lunch then onto Pau for
another night in an awful hotel. Friday morning we drove to San Sebastian Spain and spent the
day wandering around the beautiful ocean front city. Later that evening we drove back across
the border to our new rental house near Biarritz. All and all not the best road trip but like much
of this trip it has been a learning experience.
