Woke up at 5:30AM, you tend to wake up early when your not sure if it's going to be your last day. Klaus, Christoph
and Eddie picked me up at 7AM and we set off for the base of the Untersberg. We start hiking and everything was going
and Eddie picked me up at 7AM and we set off for the base of the Untersberg. We start hiking and everything was going
just fine until we hit the first set of stair... half way up my legs felt like refrigerators and it becomes clear very quickly
that this is going to be a brutal and most likely for me a humiliating hike to the top... it was all that and more. It was
nice that our guides on the climb up had lots of experience dealing with emergency situations as there were many
points along the endless sets of stairs where I thought my heart might explode. Klaus voluntrees with Mountain Rescue
and Christoph is a Fireman. They walked up the mountain pretty much effortlessly chatting the whole way up. Eddie
and I both made it to the top, it wasn't pretty but we made it. Erica, Tony and the Boys meet us at the top having
spent seven minutes in the Gondola getting to the peak. Lets just say it took us two and a half hours to hike up.
We took the Gondola down had lunch then Heinz took us to an amazingly green lake before stopping off in Hallein
to have some ice cream.
